Abstract
A retrospective global analysis into the helicopter hoist rescue operations within Emergency Medical Services and Search and Rescue. 204 research focused on 29 peer reviewed papers (n=27,460 operational winches).
Analysis explores the following thematics of hoist rescue operations.
-Temporal data
-Age demographics
-Gender demographics
-Injury scores (NACA & RTSc)
-Intubation frequency
-Geographical rescue (water vs land)
This study then led to internal research into Babcock's hoist rescue data and how we applied the lessons of this data into shaping our future operations safety principles.
