Abstract:
Military experiences have informed civilian clinical practice for centuries. Today’s civilian aeromedical operations see clinicians responding to thousands of critical patients in complex, austere and sometimes terrorist situations. These experiences have the opportunity to provide shared learning with our military counterparts, particularly in the area of military Aeromedical Evacuation.
This presentation will look at a program run within NSW for the past 8 years, that sees military medics attending civilian aeromedical training and missions prior to deployment. It will discuss the mutual benefits and opportunities for the future.
