Transforming an Australian Icon

Rebecca Tomkinson
CEO Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations

The arrival of the Rio Tinto LifeFlight PC-24 jets at Western Operations in the last year has added to our aero medical capability and our aviation expertise in Australia. So much so, that the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations was named the WA Tech Company of the Year and entered into the WA Hall of Fame for this innovation.

It was an admiral achievement for an iconic organisation and proof that innovation and technology are important aspects of our future. These two jets have heralded the start of a transformation across our organisation as we reconfigure our network to optimise this capacity.

We are transforming our service to ensure our highly specialised staff and resources are best placed to service the needs of the WA community, within limited funds, to deliver the best possible outcome for each and every patient across our vast 2.5million square kilometre state of Western Australia.
