Abstract:

This presentation is to provide an overview of the Aeromedical Commissioning Programme. The vision of the Programme is for equitable access to a high-performing aeromedical service that is safe, sustainable, and integrated to deliver excellent care.

The presentation will provide an overview of the Programme, and the work underway to facilitate the development of the future end to end operating model for New Zealand’s air ambulance services. This will cover prehospital and interhospital transfers across both rotary and fixed wing services.

The Programme will facilitate the design of the different components that will build the future operating model; funding and investment, assets and infrastructure, dispatch and coordination, workforce, data and digital and governance. This operating model will include options for an integrated dispatch and coordination system to optimise the use of air ambulance resources across pre-hospital and interhospital transfers.

This presentation will provide an overview of the programme timeframes, opportunities to be involved and what to expect over the coming year.
