Abstract:
While many of the retrieval clinicians attending this conference will be accustomed to local rotary wing and fixed wing transfers, not as many organisations in Australia regularly undertake long-haul international missions using their own asset and teams. Using a case study as an example, the operations and medical teams from the LifeFlight jet service will discuss the behind-the-scenes intricacies of logistics and clinical care that are required to successfully complete a multi-sector, multi-day and multi-team retrieval of an unwell patient.
