Dr Anil Joshi is an Emergency Medicine Physician, Prehospital & Retrieval Medicine Specialist, and clinical educator based in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. He has a particular interest in human factors, team performance, medical education and developing people and teams to thrive in challenging environments.
Drawing on experiences from both advanced retrieval systems and resource-constrained healthcare settings, Anil has developed a growing interest in the lessons that emerge when clinicians step beyond their familiar environments. After spending time living and working in Tanzania alongside local healthcare teams, he has gained fresh perspectives on leadership, teamwork, resourcefulness, and professional fulfilment.
His keynote explores how these experiences can challenge assumptions, reshape professional identity, and reconnect us with the purpose that first drew us to medicine.
