Abstract:

this case review will discuss an unfortunate farmer caught in a hazard reduction blaze, for whom oral intubation failed. Aspects of clinical decision making and agile team dynamics will be discussed, including the case progression to surgical airway and an escharotomy, in addition to other interventions that allowed safe air-transfer to hospital.
This will be a multi-media presentation, including technical learning points, high quality CMAC video, alongisde discussion of human factor challenges that made this a useful case for reflection, aligned with the conference theme.
