Long Distance Transport – 8,000km and 25 years. Never too late for a debrief.

Dr Andrew Berry1

1NETS (NSW), Sydney, Australia

A request to transport a critically ill infant for whom conventional intensive care was failing presented unique challenges.  They included being in Asia, on high frequency oscillatory ventilation, no available transport ventilator and a transport distance of 8,000km. The presentation will describe what was achieved, what wasn’t and what the outcomes were for the patient and family from a perspective 25 years’ later.
